According to the information shared by online data analyst Yujin, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has sold a total of 13 meme coins today, exchanging them for a total of 346,000 USDC. Due to their small market value and shallow liquidity, some tokens experienced significant declines, such as a 68% drop for DINU and a 38% drop for JSHIBA. Subsequently, Vitalik donated all the USDC to Kanro, a charity organization focused on biotechnology.
Vitalik’s wallet address often receives airdrops from meme coin issuers, and he regularly liquidates these tokens and uses the funds for charitable purposes. The most famous example was in 2021 when Vitalik donated 50 trillion SHIB tokens, worth approximately $1.2 billion, to the address of Polygon founder Sandeep Nailwal’s “India Covid-Crypto Relief Fund”.
