Former US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday (12th) the release of the MugShot version of his NFT collection, “Trump Digital Trading Cards,” which is issued on the Polygon blockchain. The collection features various styles of Trump images, with each card priced at $99. Unlike the previous two series, the Trump NFT collection offers new physical benefits.

According to the description on the latest Trump NFT purchasing website, collectors who purchase at least 47 of these NFTs will not only have the opportunity to dine with Trump at Mar-a-Lago but also receive a limited edition of 2,024 physical Trump collectible cards with different levels of rarity. These cards come with a small piece of fabric from the navy blue suit Trump wore when his mugshot was taken after his arrest in August this year. He was charged with violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act in Georgia, accused of attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Among these limited edition physical cards, some come with Trump’s autograph. Additionally, there are 225 cards that come with fabric from the same suit and tie, which only buyers who purchase 100 cards from this series of NFTs can obtain.

Linking NFTs with physical collectibles is not a new concept. Last year, some digital fashion startups and mainstream fashion brands, such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Gucci, have all attempted similar approaches by combining NFT collectibles with special footwear or luggage.

It is currently unclear whether Trump’s adoption of this strategy will be successful, but shortly after he announced his new physical collectible series, the floor prices of his previous two NFT series dropped by 30% and 41% respectively, according to NFT Price Floor data.
