According to The Block, a wallet owned by billionaire and former owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, has recently sold over a dozen NFTs, totaling approximately $38,000. This includes the sale of a “Pudgy Penguin” for 9.065 WETH (around $30,000).
Data from the NFT marketplace OpenSea shows that this wallet, one of two owned by Cuban, is also attempting to sell a “Proof of Culture” NFT themed around the Mavericks for nearly $50,000. The wallet currently holds around 1,600 NFTs.
Cuban previously revealed heavy investments in ideas generated from the TV show “Shark Tank,” with 80% of investments made outside the show focusing on cryptocurrency or crypto-related ventures. He has been a vocal supporter of NFTs, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology, and has criticized the decision to make royalty payments optional in the NFT market.
