US President-elect Donald Trump announced on Sunday on his social media platform Truth Social that he has nominated economist and former advisor Stephen Miran as the Chairman of the Economic Advisory Committee. This committee will provide the administration with advice on economic policies and strategies.

Miran previously served as a senior economic policy advisor at the Treasury Department during Trump’s first term. Recently, he appeared on the Bitcoin-related podcast “The Bitcoin Layer” and emphasized the importance of supporting innovative policies in the United States. He stated:

“Appointing Bo Hines to lead the President’s Digital Assets Advisory Committee.”

In addition, Trump also announced the appointment of former American football player Bo Hines as the Executive Director of the new advisory department called the “Cryptocurrency Committee.” Hines ran as a Republican candidate for North Carolina State Representative in 2022 but lost to the Democratic candidate Wiley Nickel.

In early December, Trump appointed David Sacks as the White House’s first “AI and Crypto Czar,” responsible for guiding US policies and regulatory affairs in the fields of AI and cryptocurrency.

On Monday, Trump simultaneously announced the appointment of former partner at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Sriram Krishnan, as a senior AI policy advisor in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

In response to his appointment, Krishnan expressed his honor to serve the country and work closely with David Sacks to ensure the continued leadership of the United States in the field of AI on the social media platform X.
