High-Leverage Trading Windfalls
ZachXBT wrote in the report that the trader earned approximately $20 million through high-leverage trading on Hyperliquid and GMX in recent weeks. Among the most notable trades were two made between January and March 2025:
- Wallet 0xe4d3 opened ETH and BTC long positions with 50x leverage before Trump announced the cryptocurrency reserve plan, profiting $10 million.
- Wallet 0xf3f4 opened a BTC short position with 40x leverage, earning $9 million.
These two trades have drawn attention due to their precise timing and high returns.
Suspicious Funding Sources
ZachXBT tracked addresses interacting with 0xf3f4 (such as 0x7ab8, 0x312f, etc.), discovering that some of these addresses were linked to platforms like Roobet, Binance, and Gamdom. Among these, 0x7ab8 was confirmed to be the payment receiving address for the phishing website projection[.]fi, which received $17,100 from victims in January 2025.
The funding sources also pointed to withdrawal addresses from four casinos on Solana. ZachXBT stated, “One of these casinos confirmed that the funds came from exploiting a gaming input validation vulnerability.” He also discovered that the trader had used a Telegram account (ID: 7713976571) to negotiate with the casino, which was later deleted.
Identity Revealed: William Parker’s Criminal History
Through open-source intelligence (OSINT) and payment records from 0xe4d3, ZachXBT identified a UK phone number pointing to a person named William Parker. The report stated, “Public records show that William Parker is likely the owner of this number.” Interestingly, William Parker is not a first-time offender; he previously went by the alias Alistair Packover and has a long criminal history:
- In 2023, he was arrested in Finland for stealing around $1 million from two casinos and served time in prison.
- In the early 2010s, he made headlines in the UK for hacking and gambling-related fraud.
ZachXBT concluded, “It is clear that William Parker, after serving time for fraud, has not learned his lesson and continues to gamble.” Currently, most of his funds remain in address 0x51d99A4022a55CAd07a3c958F0600d8bb0B39921.
Conclusion: From Six Figures to $20 Million on an Illegal Path
ZachXBT provided a brief overview at the end of the report: “In January 2025, an individual with a history of multiple criminal charges gained funds through casino vulnerabilities and phishing attacks, subsequently turning six-figure sums into $20 million through high-leverage trading.” This event not only reveals the high-risk and high-reward nature of the cryptocurrency market but also highlights the regulatory challenges of illicit funds flowing into on-chain trading.
As for ZachXBT’s investigation, the X account associated with the whale has yet to respond to the findings.
