According to information shared by Jesse Pollak, the number of daily transaction users on the Base ecosystem application Zora has recently seen significant growth, with the total number of creators, buyers, and sellers exceeding 200,000. Zora is a decentralized platform that transforms community post content into tokens, allowing users to engage in speculative trading of these contents.

However, on-chain detective ZachXBT seems to regard Jesse Pollak with disdain, responding in the comments below Pollak’s tweet:

“None of these so-called ‘viral’ tokens have a value exceeding $5 million.”

In response to ZachXBT’s cold water, Jesse Pollak argued that it is quite normal in the creative field for “most content to have no economic value,” and only a very small portion of content can generate significant economic value. Pollak believes that defining success or failure by the ability to generate “$5 million in value” is a misunderstanding of the realities of creation, citing that the vast majority of content on TikTok or IG cannot produce such returns, yet they remain important creative platforms.

Jesse Pollak also emphasized that content creation in Web3 is still in its early stages, and the potential for creation on Web3 needs sufficient time to accumulate; valuable content will go viral, while worthless content will not. The market and algorithms will determine everything.

In a subsequent response, ZachXBT pointed out that Jesse Pollak overlooked one key point: even if these creator tokens can achieve a “$5 million valuation,” that is still far from any true “realizable” value (implying that the realizable value is actually much lower than $5 million). Furthermore, ZachXBT even urged Jesse Pollak to stop claiming that it is still the early stages, stating that such a mindset does not help the industry at all.

“This is no longer the early stage. This mindset is one of the reasons why this space has been slow to develop; we have already gained mainstream attention. Moreover, those marketing phrases claiming that ‘creator tokens are different from micro-cap meme coins’ are actually harmful and misleading.”
