Release tool has previously traded texts
Limited impact
Despite attracting a large user base, opposition to texts has never completely disappeared in the Bitcoin community. Rijndael, a contributor to the Ordinals protocol and the technical director of the Bitcoin ecosystem NFT project Taproot Wizards, has announced on the X platform that he has come up with a method for Bitcoin nodes to reject blocks containing texts. He has called on opponents to integrate this code instead of just making empty slogans.
Rijndael stated:
Furthermore, Rijndael openly challenged opponents of texts to either run this code or admit on X that they are merely pretending to be noble.
However, in reality, this code itself seems to have little technical significance and appears more like Rijndael’s counterattack and mockery towards critics of texts.
James Check, Chief Analyst at Glassnode, believes that even though there is strong criticism of texts in the community, this software is unlikely to be widely accepted, and he states that this issue has already created a stalemate similar to the “Mexican standoff” on the Bitcoin network. James Check said:
Furthermore, Rijndael himself admits that he created this script in about 15 minutes and implies that it can easily be bypassed by changing the fingerprint of Ordinals.
