Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino recently gave an interview to the foreign media outlet Cointelegraph. When discussing the killer applications in the cryptocurrency industry by 2024, Paolo Ardoino stated that what the industry truly needs are “real-world use cases and applications.”

According to Paolo Ardoino, the next killer application in the cryptocurrency industry could be a hotel booking system or a competitor to Uber. However, the most important aspect is that the application itself should focus on the fundamental value propositions provided by cryptography, including enhancing privacy and reducing intermediaries through peer-to-peer transactions and privacy protection.

Furthermore, Paolo Ardoino emphasized that whether to adopt blockchain technology or issue new tokens should not be the primary focus of the market. Paolo Ardoino stated:

“Decentralization does not necessarily mean that the system has to use blockchain technology because blockchain systems operate slowly and require global shared states.”
