Cryptocurrency columnist Tiffany Fong recently interviewed SBF, the founder of bankrupt exchange FTX, in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, where he is currently detained. During the interview, SBF’s cellmate, G Lock (a former member of the Bloods gang), shared the only photo of SBF taken around Christmas last year (December 17, 2023). Due to the prison’s regulations, photos are only allowed during Christmas and Father’s Day. In the photo, SBF appears noticeably thinner compared to before.
During the interview, G Lock mentioned that SBF doesn’t like to shower, keeps a large beard, and dresses sloppily. However, overall, G Lock described him as a good person. Tiffany Fong also asked G Lock if SBF avoids showering because he is afraid of incidents involving “dropping the soap.” G Lock burst into laughter, saying that was something that only happened in the 90s.
Furthermore, G Lock continuously praised SBF, stating that he is not the type to snitch and even likened him to a street gangster more than American rapper Tekashi69, also known as “69 the Demon King.”
