According to CNBC, US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has stated that he sees widespread use of cryptocurrencies and indirectly suggests that if he is reelected, his government will not use regulatory power to suppress the use of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. Although Trump claims he does not own Bitcoin, he has allowed people to use it for payment in the past. Trump also revealed that he has made money through cryptocurrencies and finds enjoyment in them, referring to them as “crazy new currencies” and pointing out that “people are using them.” Trump also mentioned his recent launch of the “Never Surrender High-Tops” sneakers and noted that many buyers have paid with cryptocurrencies. However, according to Decrypt, a report suggests that these sneakers, originally priced at $399, can only be purchased with a credit card, and Trump’s claims have not been verified. Nonetheless, Trump described himself as a traditionalist in terms of currency and does not want people to stray from the US dollar. He stated: “From Criticism to Inclusion! Trump’s Attitude Towards Bitcoin Softens, But Still Prefers the More Powerful ‘Dollar’.”
