The highly anticipated Ethereum staking protocol, EigenLayer, announced that it will launch the mainnet in the coming weeks in a phased approach. EigenLayer stated that the decision to deploy the mainnet in stages is to minimize protocol risks and optimize and stabilize network performance. Specifically, the mainnet deployment of EigenLayer will be executed in the following stages:

Final Testnet: The final version of EigenLayer Testnet will be migrated to the Holesky Testnet for operation.

Webapp and Contract Suspension: Withdrawal and deposit operations will be temporarily halted to facilitate control over deployment and network access by operators, while ensuring a smooth transition.

Gradual Operator Registration: This will allow the development team to test performance and control capacity growth, ensuring network stability.

Launch of EigenDA: EigenDA will be the first Active Verification Service (AVS) to be launched on the EigenLayer infrastructure. EigenDA will provide high data availability for Rollup, with a target write throughput of 10MB per second upon launch. Operators will start choosing to join EigenDA during this stage.

Completion of Mainnet Launch: EigenLayer’s Webapp will be updated, including a new staker dashboard and an operator search page. With the completion of this stage, staker delegations, deposits, and withdrawals will be reactivated.

Emergence of the VS ecosystem: With the launch of EigenDA, the AVS ecosystem is expected to flourish on the EigenLayer mainnet.

The article does not mention any information regarding token issuance, and it is unclear whether there will be an immediate token release after the mainnet goes live.
