The Cryptocurrency Open Patent Alliance (COPA) filed a lawsuit last month against Craig Wright, who has long claimed to be the creator of Bitcoin, in order to prevent him from suing other developers or claiming intellectual property rights over the related technology.

Today, in the closing arguments of this case, British Judge James Mellor stated that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, nor the author of the Bitcoin whitepaper. According to CoinDesk’s report, after discovering “overwhelming” evidence, the judge announced his plan to issue a ruling that declares Craig Wright is not the creator of Bitcoin, not the author of the Bitcoin whitepaper, and not the creator of Bitcoin’s technology.

Two key figures in the creation of Bitcoin testified last month, including Adam Back, a pioneer of the Bitcoin proof-of-work consensus system, and Martti Malmi, an early Bitcoin contributor. Both individuals objected to Craig Wright’s testimony in court and stated that he is not Satoshi Nakamoto.
