Leading global cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company Bitget has announced its participation in the 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68). This event, which focuses on gender equality and women’s empowerment, will take place in New York from March 11th to 22nd. Gracy Chen, the Managing Director of Bitget, has been invited to attend as a representative to emphasize the company’s commitment to enhancing women’s empowerment and promoting gender equality in the Web3 field. Gracy will also share her insights and participate in discussions on how Bitget can contribute to promoting gender inclusivity in the technology and blockchain sectors.

Gracy emphasizes Bitget’s commitment to gender equality and states, “Empowering women to take on leadership roles and providing equal opportunities is the cornerstone of Bitget’s Blockchain4Her initiative. I am delighted to attend the UN Women’s event, where we can share insights and learn from respected leaders in the field. As a representative, this attendance will further optimize Bitget’s strategy to align our goals with organizations worldwide and effectively drive gender equality and diversity transformation in the cryptocurrency field.” Gracy Chen reiterates Bitget’s commitment to promoting gender equality.

The 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women will focus on discussions related to “accelerating gender equality and empowering all women and girls by addressing poverty and enhancing institutions and financing from a gender equality perspective.” UN statistics indicate that 0.3% of women globally live in extreme poverty, highlighting the urgent need to accelerate progress in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, which also requires an additional $360 billion in investments.

Bitget’s commitment to gender equality is evident in its various initiatives, including activities and plans targeting women. Recently, Bitget’s research department conducted a study on the topic of gender equality, emphasizing the gender gap in fundraising for blockchain startups during the period of 2022-2023. The report shows that blockchain startups led by women accounted for only 6% of the overall funding, with women-led startups representing 8% of the total.

In January of this year, Bitget launched the Blockchain4Her initiative, committing $10 million to promote gender diversity and inclusivity in the blockchain industry, attracting several female industry leaders to join the program.

Bitget’s core value lies in envisioning a fairer future world through the development of Web3 and cryptocurrencies, empowering diverse groups regardless of cultural background, economic status, age, or gender. Bitget has taken an actively inclusive stance in the Web3 field, attracting female thought leaders as role models for the rising stars of the blockchain industry.
