The issuer of the stablecoin USD Tether (USDT), Tether, announced on Tuesday (26th) its strategic expansion in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and the launch of its AI division, tether data. Tether data will focus on the development of open-source AI models and collaborate with other companies to integrate these models into products to address real-world challenges. The division has begun recruiting positions such as AI research director and AI engineer. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated in the announcement that the division aims to “redefine the boundaries of artificial intelligence and democratize open-source AI technology with privacy protection.” The newly established division builds on Tether’s AI strategy expansion from last year, when Tether invested in Northern Data, a company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, to transition from cryptocurrency mining to providing computing power for AI-related data processing.
