According to online data, after the end of the first quarter of 2024, Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, received 8,888.88 bitcoins into its wallet address on April 1st, worth approximately 627 million US dollars. As of now, Tether holds a total of 75,354.8 bitcoins, with a total value of about 5.3 billion US dollars.
According to a previous report by Zombit, Tether announced in May of last year the implementation of a bitcoin buy-in plan, using 15% of its net profit to regularly buy bitcoins.
