According to Bloomberg, Hong Kong is likely to approve Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs as early as next Monday, according to informed sources. Applications from issuers such as Harvest Global Investments, the international department of China Asset Management Corporation, and BOCHK Asset Management, the Hong Kong subsidiary of Bosera Funds, are expected to be approved.
The sources also indicated that both companies plan to launch these ETFs by the end of this month once they receive approval from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong and finalize the listing details with the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). The sources added that the regulatory authorities could potentially approve it as early as next Monday, but the timetable is not yet confirmed and there may still be changes at the last minute.
