Previously, Casey Rodamor, the creator of the Bitcoin Ordinal Protocol and the Rune Protocol, made a pledge in March before the launch of the Rune Protocol. He stated that if the market value of the Rune ecosystem did not reach 1 billion US dollars within one month after its release, he would commit seppuku.
However, according to data from geniidata, the Rune Protocol has been online for one month, but the speculative activities did not meet expectations. The market value only reached 927 million US dollars after another month, failing to surpass the 1 billion US dollar mark.
In response to this, Casey Rodamor posted on X, stating that he would fulfill his promise and commit seppuku in the upcoming episode of his recorded podcast “Hell Money”:
“I’m sorry, folks, it’s over. Please stay tuned for the next episode of Hell Money podcast, where I will commit seppuku. Then Erin, the other host of the show, will behead me to end my suffering.”
