According to Bloomberg, former US President Donald Trump expressed support for Bitcoin mining during a meeting with some Bitcoin miners at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Tuesday night. Trump, who has recently taken a proactive stance in support of cryptocurrencies ahead of the upcoming November election, told attendees that he will advocate for miners in the White House, noting that Bitcoin miners help stabilize the energy supply of the grid.

Attendees at the event at Trump’s Palm Beach resort included representatives from CleanSpark and Riot Platforms, Bitcoin mining companies listed on the Nasdaq. Some of them even posed for photos with the former president. CleanSpark co-founder S. Matthew Schultz wrote on the X platform that Trump’s support for cryptocurrency has garnered support from many leaders within the industry, as evidenced by his recent $12 million fundraising event in Silicon Valley, which reportedly included attendees such as Gemini Exchange founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. Last month, Trump announced that he would accept political donations in the form of cryptocurrency.

Meanwhile, according to a report from The Block at the end of last month, Joe Biden’s reelection campaign team has been seeking guidance on digital asset policy from members of the cryptocurrency industry. This outreach signifies a significant shift in the Biden administration’s attitude towards cryptocurrency.
