Taiwan VASP Association Officially Established
Founder of BitTrue Appointed as First Chairman
The Taiwan Virtual Asset Service Providers Association (VASP) was officially established on June 13th. The Virtual Currency Association is a “regulatory” association established based on the FSC’s “Guidelines for the Management of Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP)”, serving as the only direct communication channel between the industry and the government.
According to the press release, the association’s primary task after establishment is to formulate the “Code of Conduct”, properly implement the classification and management of operators, build the upstream and downstream industry chain and ecosystem, while taking care of the interests of operators and industry development, meeting government expectations, and protecting consumer rights.
Huang Xihe, head of the Securities and Futures Bureau of the FSC, said in his speech at the meeting:
Furthermore, Huang Xihe also emphasized that in the future, the FSC will strengthen cooperation with the Virtual Currency Association, work together to enhance customer rights protection, improve the reputation and image of the entire industry, and promote the healthy development of the industry.
At the same time as the association was established, 24 initiating operators also completed the first session of director and supervisor elections through voting, officially initiating operations.

In addition, Tsai Yuling, co-founder of Li Ci, was invited to serve as the association’s chief advisor. She expressed her hope that the association could become a good communication bridge with the regulatory authorities and solve industry problems properly. Tsai Yuling also reminded association members that they must become benchmarks in the industry, scrutinize themselves with high standards, and lead the industry towards internationalization.
