According to the information shared by Yu Xian, the founder of SlowMist, it was revealed that a phishing organization had been targeted and suffered a loss of 10 ETH last week due to a poisoning attack by a peer.

This “poisoning” method is a common tactic used in phishing attacks on the blockchain. The attacker transfers a very small amount of cryptocurrency to a wallet address that is similar to the victim’s address, both at the beginning and end. Once the victim relaxes their guard and copies the fake address during a transaction, they fall into the trap and willingly transfer the funds to the attacker’s controlled fake address. According to the information on the blockchain:

The address of the phishing group is – 0xEfF0E5244d5C78Ba4DD6bc01082576280558f58A
The fake address used for the poisoning attack is – 0xEfF0eCD2eB275C3CEE4A17D9B8f101551d58f58A

The phishing group mistakenly identified the address in a transaction, resulting in a loss of 10 ETH. Although the impact of this incident is not significant, it is highly embarrassing. Yu Xian jokingly commented on this matter, saying:
